This message takes place in the morning of one of our group’s second days in Israel. As we’ve left our tour buses, we pass by the most significant fountain and sculpture in Yaffo – it’s the one of the whale. We are reminded that this is the spot where Jonah fled from God.
As our guests sit in a little alcove in the beautiful city of Yaffo, we can see the Mediterranean in the distance, we hear birds singing around us, the leaves in the trees are rustling in the gentle breeze and our hearts are full of expectation for a message from God.
Listen on in as we hear a different perspective on the story of Jonah that helps us extend more grace to this often harshly criticized prophet. You may find that there is added grace for you as well as you journey through your weaknesses.
Join us today in this Podcast Episode as we welcome a wonderful group of friends to Israel on their very first day.
Beautiful Tel Aviv: Your Entry to Israel
On today’s episode, we’ve just landed in Tel Aviv at the Ben Gurion airport, taken our tour bus to our hotel just one block from the crashing waves of the Mediterranean and we’re gathered to hear a short welcome message from Hans.
Does a visit to Israel happen just by chance or does God have a bigger story for you? When you visit Israel are you there for a ‘bucket list‘ tour to just see the sites or might God have something greater in store for you? Listen in to find out.

Every tour to Israel, we spend time in Jaffa. This is where Jonah ran from God and Peter received his call to the Gentiles. Is it a spiritually rich place. However, it is also one of the most beautiful and vibrant old cities in the world.
The hometown of the most popular sinner of the New Testament may also have been the seat of one of the priestly families that fled Jerusalem to the Galilee after the fall of the Second Temple at the hands of the Romans.
A combination of recent findings at Magdala — home of Jesus disciple Mary Magdalene (who was recently celebrated by Catholics on her July 22 feast day) and the Jewish historian Joseph Flavius — point to a developed priestly culture with echoes of ancient Jerusalem at the site.
Everyone who visits Israel is overwhelmed by the amazingly delicious breakfasts. From garden-fresh produce to free-range eggs to fresh-squeezed juices to European-style bread to mouth-watering preserves and more! Watch this 60-second overview video and see if you can control your taste buds.
(We start every morning on our tours with breakfasts like this. Aside from our quiet time, it’s the best start to our day)
Just ask this 86-year-old who has been to over 87 countries—and shows no signs of stopping.
When 86-year-old June Scott is asked where she’s based, she responds: “This morning or in travel?”
Considering she’s visited all seven continents and over 87 countries, it’s a fair question. The Oak Brook, Illinois-based traveler just returned home from Palestine and Israel; before that, she was in Cuba; and in December, she slept in a pop-up tent in the world’s largest sand desert, the Arabian Peninsula’s Empty Quarter—often considered one of the least explored places on Earth. Last August? She and her family hiked sand dunes over 900 feet high, flew over the Skeleton Coast in a tiny plane, and kayaked with seals in Namibia.
