A Powerful Word From The Upper Room

The Upper Room

Hearts were lifted. Tears were shed. Worship was exultant.

The Holy Spirit moved in power as our group listened to Hans Weichbrodt sharing from the roof of the Upper Room.

The Upper Room (or Cenacle) is on Mount Zion, the place regarded as the traditional site of the Last Supper.

The roof top of the Upper room

This is where Jesus washed the disciple’s feet, where the disciples gathered in fear after Jesus’ death, where Jesus reveals His resurrected self to Thomas, where 120 believers prayed on the Day of Pentecost and where tongues of fire appeared to them as they were filled with the Spirit (Acts 2:1-4).

The Upper Room building is built on top of a church-synagogue constructed in the first century AD.   Archaeologists have uncovered plaster fragments inscribed with Greek graffiti, one of which has been interpreted to contain the name of Jesus.

A Word From Ein Gedi – David’s Oasis

Hans preaches at the lower waterfall

The natural oasis of Ein Gedi is always a highlight for those who join us for Break Forth Israel.

It is here that David hid from King Saul, where Josaphat fought the Moabites and Ammonites, and where Song of Songs speaks of vineyards.

Listen in as Hans gives a powerful message on God’s faithfulness through the desert. Just click below:

The Pool of Siloam: What a Difference a Year Makes

The last time our Break Forth group sat at the Pool of Siloam, it was nearly dry. God has blessed Jerusalem with beautiful rains and it is now overflowing as it was in the past and how it should be.

Take a look at the before photo (with our group) and the overflowing pool today:

[VIDEO] – Israel 100 years ago. This is fascinating.

If you’ve ever been to Israel or plan to visit, this video is incredible. Filmed as much as a century ago, you’ll see Holy Land sites from long ago.

You may also be happy to know that if you join us on one our Break Forth Journeys tours, you’ll have a far more comfortable experience.  Air-conditioned buses, great roads, and deluxe hotels are a nice change from a century ago.

[WATCH] Fascinating Pan Am Israel Travel Video from 1956

You’ll want to watch this if you’ve ever been to Israel.

Yes, it’s nostalgic.

But it’s also amazing to think of how fast Israel developed from its birth as a nation in 1948 until 7 years later when this video was made. Then, to consider how quickly it’s developed in the past 64 years is astounding.

Every year we bring groups to Israel, we fall in love with the country once again. Even more important, we fall further in love with the scriptures. Want to join us? Just click here.

Wanna Eat A 2,600 Year Old Date?

This is incredible!

Dates fruit with mint leaves

Israeli scientists have grown fresh dates from 6th-century BCE seed.

It is believed that seeds were brought by the exiles coming back after the First Temple was destroyed.

Grown from ancient seeds found at Masada and Qumran and likely brought back to Judea from Babylon in the sixth century BCE, the fresh dates symbolize the remarkable resilience of God’s creation.

*NOTE: In October 2021, we’ll be on Masada where one of the seeds was found and also by the Kibbutz in Southern Israel where the seeds were grown. This is part of our Break Forth Israel & Jordan Tour
